Proven Thermal Accuracy

All target models can be simulated as they operate on the field.  These vehicle operating scenarios include tactical idle, cruise, towing, and on and off-engine states. Models capture all the contributors to vehicle heating with exceptional accuracy. These include heating sources derived from driving the vehicle, such as engine heating, exhaust gases leaving the vehicle, bearing heating, tire or road wheel hysteresis, and track heating for tracked vehicles. In addition to these, we incorporate any additional and significant heat sources, such as auxiliary power units (APUs), radar systems, or other electronic components. These heat sources represent conduction, convection, thermal, and solar radiation, resulting in an incredibly accurate thermal representation of any ground target.

Simple Set Up and Customization

MuSES' intuitive graphics-based interface and menus make setting up and adjusting model parameters a breeze. The simulation parameters are user-facing and can be easily adjusted to fit any scenario you have in mind. You can select a part’s material from our detailed database to change material properties, surface conditions, paints, and thicknesses and add custom heating or convection routines within the model. Modifying the operating environment, such as the weather or global position of the model, or creating multiple modeling scenarios, including vehicle headings, engine states, and driving speeds, can be done easily.

High-Quality Infrared Renderings

MuSES ground vehicle targets can easily be viewed and rendered as they would appear through the eyes of an EO/IR sensor. After a model has been properly set up, MuSES will run a transient analysis of the ground vehicle and predict the physical temperatures of the vehicle and the environment. Once this is finished, we can consider optical surface properties, such as paints on the vehicle and any atmospheric effects between the sensor and the target via MODTRAN. This accurately represents what a real sensor would see in the field. MuSES and our ground vehicle target models have been an industry gold standard for over 25 years due to our ability to effectively simulate infrared radiosity and sensor effects, giving you confidence in the accuracy of our simulations.
