Software Version 7.0 Released

ThermoAnalytics, Inc. has released the 7.0 version of RadTherm, WinTherm, and MuSES Software.

Keith Johnson, ThermoAnalytics President, states, "The advancements made in version 7.0 are the result of user feedback from the automotive, aerospace, military, and electronics industries. The new technologies in 7.0 will keep our customers at the cutting edge of simulation."

The new release includes substantial novel features and improvements to the previous release:

  • Built-in generic Diesel engine model
  • Assembly Editor for non-exclusive grouping of parts
  • The graphics view-point can be set via user input in a dialog, allowing repeated viewing and image export from precisely the same view point and zoom level
  • Flat Shaded BRDF Rendering of IR Radiance

Feature Additions to all ThermoAnalytics Software Codes

  • Assembly editor groups parts into non-exclusive assemblies
  • Generic Diesel engine model
  • Export of a series of images in the post processor animation has been added
  • The graphics view-point can be set via user input in a dialog
  • Mass flow rate can be specified for advection and convection
  • Advection flow rates can be specified as a percentage of the upstream flow
  • An animation speed control slider has been added to the post processor, so animation speeds can be reduced
  • Conduction rules for T-junctions with 3-Layer parts can now be specified
  • Support for advection or convection connections to geometryless water terrains has been added
  • The Wind Convection model that is used can be selected by the user
  • Graphics color ramp display can be selected
  • Ability to export older versions of the model has been added
  • When running a natural environment model, the air, default terrain, and sky temperatures are displayed on the analysis tab
  • Convection type "None" has been added to the available convection types
  • Command line solution can be aborted gracefully with Ctrl-C, saving results up until abort time
  • Solution relaxation for fluid nodes can be set independent of the solution relaxation for other nodes
  • An ASCII fluid material import has been added to the supported material file formats
  • The PRISM weather file can now be specified as a free format file
  • The Planck integral has been modified to handle large radiance bands
  • UTM coordinates can be specified in the Environ tab page
  • Graphics axes can be set by the user
  • Graphics window title can be set by user

 

Feature Enhancements to all ThermoAnalytics Software Codes

  • Single bounding box wall temperature can be specified
  • Animate-Resume buttons are now one button
  • The Unhide tool bar button and menu selection have been renamed "Show"
  • Solar component display in post processor now displays Horizontal Direct and Beam Direct
  • Reduced resource usage when running on Windows
  • Errors reported to user with dialog when reading paint file with bad data
  • The Materials tab page has been renamed "Properties"
  • Dialogs no longer have their own task bar icon, and stay on top of only the application, not all others


New Features to Infrared Analysis

  • Flat shaded BRDF included
  • Sea surface model for watercraft models included
  • The paint editor can now plot paint values, and displays the data in a paint
  • Automatic loading of a paint file (This is also available via command line)
